Grid Gone Wild
Privacy Policy · Last updated 6 September 2026
Grid Gone Wild ("the app", "we") is a family party game for ages 13+. We built it to be played together, not to harvest data. This policy explains what little we handle and why.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- No advertising, no third-party trackers or analytics SDKs.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- Your selected intensity level is visible to the other players in your room as part of the game. Private prompts and ballots are shown only to the players who need them.
What we store
- On your device: your welcome confirmation, setup choices, per-player gameplay-tip preference, local game progress, recent prompt IDs used for freshness (never prompt text), an unguessable online-room session token used to reconnect your seat, and the original intent/revision/request ID of an interrupted move until its result is checked (up to 12 hours).
- Optional keepsakes: when you choose Save, a bounded gallery stays on this device. It includes the visible board, result, game-night nicknames, awards and any optional quote you enter. It contains no room credentials, private prompts or ballots. You see the exact image before sharing it through a destination you choose; saved images can be removed in Settings & Support.
- Support preview: up to 40 recent action categories, outcomes and timings stay in memory. They are not sent automatically. The report preview excludes names, prompt text, ballots, room codes and credentials; copying it is your choice.
- For online rooms: the game-night nickname and color you choose, random player ID, room code, public intensity setting, connection/sit-out status, votes, powers, board state, in-game moves, and the prompt/card state needed to run the game. Private prompts, individual ballots, powers, and freshness history are removed or scoped before a snapshot is returned to another player or TV display.
- Prompt freshness: recent prompt IDs are stored on your device. When “Fresh prompts first” is on, the web app contributes a bounded list of those IDs to the active room so the authority can prefer different cards. The list expires with that room and is never stored in a cross-game server profile. No advertising ID, installation ID, or device identifier is sent with it.
- Authentication: the room service stores only a one-way hash of the random session token; the raw bearer stays on your device.
- Seat handoff: a one-use transfer code expires after 10 minutes. The service stores only its hash, consumes it when claimed, and invalidates the old device token.
- Security: short-lived, one-way request and rate-limit fingerprints help prevent replay and abuse. Application rate-limit buckets expire within 2 hours; create/join replay records expire within 13 hours. Supabase may also process ordinary network and service logs under its privacy terms.
- Retention: active or abandoned rooms expire within 12 hours. Finished rooms expire within 1 hour. Consumed handoff records are removed after 1 hour. An automated cleanup runs periodically, so deletion may follow shortly after expiry.
What we do NOT collect
We do not require an account, legal name, email address, or phone number. We do not collect contacts, photos, camera or microphone data, precise location, advertising identifiers, or data for tracking. If you email support, your email address and message are handled by your and our email providers so we can respond.
Service providers
Online multiplayer is powered by Supabase, which hosts the transient room data on our behalf as a data processor. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS.
Families and children
Grid Gone Wild is designed for children and adults to play together. Children should play with a parent or guardian present. The app has no accounts, advertising, profiling, direct messaging, camera, microphone, or location collection. Use a playful game-night nickname rather than a full legal name in online rooms.
Your choices
You can clear local preferences, saved seats, and prompt history from Settings & Support, remove the web app's site data, or delete the iOS app. Online rooms delete automatically under the retention schedule above. You may also contact us with the room code to request earlier deletion.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the updated version on this page with a new date.
